Man came first. From a religious stand point it is said that Adam was the first man.
But as I have heard some women say: 'God made man first...Then he had a better idea' LOL.

I love the fact that there's two completely different ways people are interpreting your question. It reveals what their minds tend to think of first!
1) which appeared first on earth? If you believe many traditional Creation Stories/Myths/Theological beliefs, then the first human being here on earth was male. However, scientifically, evolutionarily, 'nefariousx' explained that quite well. To paraphrase, if evolution happened through genetic mutations as science tells us, it is most likely that the first human was female. However, it's still possible that the first human from mutation was a male. Genetically speaking, if the female pre-human that birthed the first mutant pre-human/human saw the fetus as genetically similar enough not to attack it, then the first human, whether male or female, would have been able to (and likely, would have had to) mate with other pre-humans, passing on the quintessential mutations that diferentiate pre-humans from humans that way.
Now, on to the funner version:
2) Which sexually climaxes first? Usually, nearly always, the male. But I try to help my wife with as many as she wants afterwards...

MAN
Gen 2:18-24 (ESV) Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
Some religions may have HELPER, while other may have COMPANY.
But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him. So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”
Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
"It is not good that man should be alone."

man. the term woman referes the the womb of the man or "from the womb of a man" biblically God used adams flesh to make eve. but in most cultures some kind of male diety created the first female. so i would say man came first.
and plus...every masterpeice needs a sloppy-copy. so man must have come first..lol
