LMFAO! I'm sorry, I couldn't help but laugh at this question, I have yet to hear a law making it illegal to eat a pet lobster, nor have I seen one yet that makes it illegal to eat your gold fish, cat, or dog...(though doesn't mean they don't exist, Yahoo Answers is world wide) though people may find it cruel and inhumane, I suggest they go to India and order a beef burger, in our society people consider it wrong to eat certain animals which are also kept as "pets" though in others they are hunted and eaten just like any other wild animal....and where the heck are you getting the time to make the salt water to keep lobster?

Why would you want to get a lobster as a pet? What about a cray fish, they are cheaper but look the same and are a little bit cuter if a fish with a shell that eats rotting fish can look cute. You could also catch your own.
Are you going to eat it?

"Lobsters like raw fish and meat, algae tablets, shrimp pellets
and bloodworms. there is also dry food at the pet stores for them, but make sure you don't get the floating kind, because unless it sinks to the bottom your lobster will have quite a difficult time getting it."
(More info about the care of pet lobsters at the site listed below)

Anything, generally. You should feed them prawns, whitebait (lancefish), cockles and occasionaly try them on vegetable matter like cucumber. Do not keep them with fish, they will catch and eat them. Also, bear in mind that almost every species is illegal to keep in the UK, so check out the species before you buy. They also grow very large (12") and can be very nasty to each other.

Its legal cause you are the owner of your pets but the animal activists wont be happy with you.. Its basically your properties those pets.. But if you really want to eat them, do it discreetly I guess... i pity your pets.. All the best!

krill, plankton. I have heard of cannibal lobster. Some people throw chicken in the traps. You could try that.

they are scavengers.they will eat nearly anything that they find on the bottom of your tank.they will readilly accept flakes, or frozen foods.just remember, don't overfeed them or the excess food will remain in the tank rotting, therefore allowing for buildups of toxins in the water.
