I know that you'll are just messing around about the drugs and so on. I have been married for 10 years and will be paying for school out of my own pocket. So I really don't intend to be partying. I just want to know if there are any tools that would be helpful. :)

Since you are going into accounting, which is very meticulous work, the more organized you are, the better, and it's good to train yourself to get into that mode now. I suggest a lot of ringed binders so that you can put all papers, handouts, ect into one binder for each class. Also, you can keep your syllabi and schedules in there as well. You never know when you're going to be faced with an emergency and need that syllabus to contact your professor, or if you plan to transfer, some colleges will want a synopsis of what your syllabus for that class entails in order to determine if the course will transfer or not.
I also suggest highlighters. They will come in handy. (Especially if you're a visual learner)
I think for me, the best thing I ever did for college was to take an inventory test that will tell you what kind of learner you are. Most people are audio, visual, kinesthetic, or readers. Once you find out the type of learner you are, it's easier to determine the kinds of materials you will need to help you do your best. Me personally, I am a visual and kinesthetic learner, so I use a lot of graphs, pictures, highlighters, ect to help me study. Also, because I'm kinestethic, I've also used hands on models such as heart models, the brain, the eyes, as well as chemistry models of atoms and molecules that you can put together and take apart. (But then again, I'm a science major) But they helped me tremendously. Also, there's a lot of software programs out there that can help you organize your notes as well, and also computer software that can be used as study aids, which might be worth looking into. (I used one for my biology class that was VERY helpful) Also, if you're going into accounting, I would suggest a very GOOD calculator. Depending on the highest level math course you have to take, I'd go with a TI-36X scientific. Graphing calculators are often too complicated and expensive, and have so many buttons you'd never have time to learn how to use them all. I've made it all the way through Calculus without ever using a graphing calculator, just a scientific (one that has trig functions).
Hmm..other than that, I really don't know of much else. Good luck to you though!

Alcohol and drugs helped me get through college...but seriously, use a spiral note pad for each class to help take notes. A small digital voice recorder will help, too! Good Luck!

1) a day planner or scheduler is the most useful thing any college student can own. it's all about time management.

2) a library card. borrowing books can be far cheaper and more convenient than buying and re-selling them. plus you can nap in the library between classes.
