25 harddrives,converted to firewire,installed in server tower,I only will use 2 harddrive at a time (master/slave) so the other 23 will still have the 12v/5v power going to them,but no ground.
tested on a old drive and seams to work good,want to make sure drives will not be harmed before I continue seting up the 25 drives.
going to use in hometheater,switches will be mounted in a case next to coach.
Getting Lazy as the years go by.

Do you think that it is wise to switch the ground wires? With the grounds off, isn't that inviting an electrical catastrophe? All laziness aside? If one drive blows won't the rest blow also? Then you'll be left with 25x3 pretty silver Frisbees! ;)
