For me, it's the De Young Museum in Golden Gate Park. I can't even look at it without wincing. Sometimes it looks like Babe, Paul Bunyan's blue ox, dropped a gigantic twisted dropping on Golden Gate Park.

For me, the worse is Sutro Tower, that 1,000 ft. "alien antenna from Mars". It's terrifyingly ugly. And worse, you can see it in half of the city.

Oh, come on. I really do believe the DeYoung will be beautiful once the copper ages and changes colors, as planned, and you have to admit that the interiors are spectacular. And how can anyone attack our Golden Gate Bridge? That's just plain un-American!!! ;-)

But nothing could possibly be worse than sterile concrete block of the Chinatown Holiday Inn (now the Chinatown Hilton). 1960's Moscow, anyone?

I'm not sure what the name of the building is, but it's just north of City hall, and it's all alumininum-looking covered, and it's got small windows, awkward balconies and is just plain and ugly.

I've thought it might be ok to work there, so I wouldn't have to look at it.
