He makes a film like every 6 months, but no one sees them, or likes them. His reviews are terrible. Why is he so legendary? Why do superstar actors/actresses continue to sign on to his films?

After his last flop Scoop (starring Scarlett Johannsen, Hugh Jackman), Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor signed up for an upcoming movie.

WHY?

I have seen about 90% of his films.

i enjoy the majority of them, some suggest that they are flops you base this on content?
probably not, but on ticket sales. for example snakes on a plane may make more money but does it mean its better than Matchpoint.......

its a matter of opinion. the early films are slapstick and gag. annie hall marks a mature and moral tales, then the newer stuff deals with morality affairs light comedy redemption......ect.

Jennifer Tilly and Mia Sorvino have oscars because of him...
the end.
its not for everybody.....

some of my favorites
*Sleeper
*Zelig
*Sweet and Low down
*Love and death
*Radio Days
*Broadway Danny rose
*Deconstructing Hary
*Everybody says i love you.

Go and see Love and Death and then come and tell us WHY?

The man is a genius, that's why.

An artistic celebration, is what Woody is.

He has this divine madness about him that everyone is attracted to and everyone finds so charming and intriguing. And every one of his movies, perhaps not a huge financial success, is a work of art in itself. Serious actors and moviegoer sometimes prefer that more than the commercially successful movies of other directors and producers.

people who thank me by using telling me that I "did a competent interest." people who put in a competent word for me, or brag on me. that's rather the only way that i believe stable approximately myself...i'm no longer able to do something devoid of having the approval of somebody else. And in the event that they say that i did no longer do a competent interest, or i exchange into sloppy, then it makes me somewhat look down on myself. i decide for to do some thing over if i think of it wasn't "passable" adequate. Now, what somewhat makes me experience stable, is girls that flirt with me...which seldom each and every occurs, yet I do like it. :) large question!

I stopped seeing his movies when he started sleeping with his stepdaughter (I also refuse to see Roman Polanski movies since he was convicted of raping a child).

That being said, I think MANHATTAN is a great movie. I also liked some of his early, funnier movies, like LOVE AND DEATH and BANANAS. I saw some merit in HANNAH AND HER SISTERS and STARDUST MEMORIES -- but think they paled in comparison to MANHATTAN and ANNIE HALL.

I do somewhat agree, but I do really like Annie Hall and just saw it for the first time about five years ago. I also really like Hannah and Her Sisters, and I think he also did another one I like called Crimes and Misdemeanors.

His early films were hilarious. Rent "Manhattan", "Sleeper", "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex", "Bananas" or even "Sweet & Lowdown" as one of his better new ones.
