Because they think that they won't get pregnant, or they were not told by their parents about sex. Too many parents depend on the health classes in school to teach their kids about sex, and pregnancy, but the kids won't listen.

I can give you several reasons why girls get pregnant a a young age. Home life can be one. If the parents arent attentive to their daughter she may end up doing something to get attention.
2. Boys are pressuring them to have sex and within that pressure, safe sex is thrown out the window.
3. Birth control (the pills and such) are actually pretty expenisve for them to afford on their baby sitting salaries (which is where i think parents need to be involoved).
4. Not enough boys are taking responsibility in their actions by not wearing condoms (Hello people they are free at alot of planned parenthood clinics)
5. Last, but certaintly not least, rape. Whether she be awake or drugged. This is the sickest way but it unfortunatley is one of the more common ways these days.

As a parent to a son I am going to make it my misson to make sure he doesnt get any woman pregnant that he isnt in a serious relationship with or married to. And in the event he does, he is getting a job. PERIOD. I hope alot more parents take responsibility for their childrens action. Stop sucking the hind tit and stand up PARENTS!!~

Well... teenager girls have always had babies. My mother back in the 80's had my sister at 17... my grandmother had my aunt in the 50's at 16... my great grandmother had her first at 15... so on so on... its not something "new" and I wish people would understand that. 100 years ago it was perfectly normal to be married and have kids at 14. But... now its just not "socially acceptable". It's not some crazy new trend. It's been that way since the beginning of time. People just don't accept it now and 14 year olds are supposed to be still "childish".

Yes, I do agree 14 , 15, 16 is too young these days... I'm not saying that it should be celebrated... I just wish people would stop acting so surprised by it. Gheeze! *jumps off soapbox*

Because they have sex and they don't think about using birth control. Or the asshole guy takes off the condom and continues to have sex. Basicly if you are going to have sex, you need a reliable hormonal birth control product like the pill, patch or ring. Our goverment would rather pretend that teen agers don't have sex and waste tons of money on useless abstenince programs. Then spend the money to make affordable bith control available to teens.
Look at the battle over plan B the morning after birth control pill. It should just be over the counter. But no the religious right that steers the goverment is making it impossible to buy with out a prescription. I don't know about you but it takes me a week to get a doctors appointment. Way outside the 36 hours I have with the Plan B option.

well my opinion is dat certain young girls think dat if they are not getting any attention from their family a man would give it 2 them. others just wanna follow their frenz or their parents set da wrong example 4 them. others think that no one care 4 dem so they start becoming sluty or they might not have no body or they might not have nothing so they sell dey body 4 some change and others do it cuz they think they f@*% grown.and trust me i am a teenager and i have frenz dat had 2 make those same desisions and they didnt realize that they made the wrong desision untill they got pregnant or got aids and then they realize that their a baby having a baby and they really cant take care of it so most teens dont no they made a wrong choise untill it happens.

Now is the time that all of our grandparents knew would come sooner or later. More and more teenagers are wanting to experience the "joy of sex." What's worse is that even more teens are feeling pressured into doing it and feeling left out if they don't. As a result of this, girls get pregnant because so many are afraid to tell their parents they want to have sex so that they can be put on birth control.

Alls I can say is THANK GOD I HAVE A SON! Just kidding! I think alot of it is that some of these girls just do not have a great relationship with their parents. Alot of parents dont take the time to KNOW their kids or to TALK to their kids. They are all rushing around working and never being home and they have noone to really turn too. I also think alot of times they interpret sex as love when its not also.

Honestly, most guys pressure the girls into having sex at that age. Guys tried to get me to have sex with them all the time. I guess some girls just are insecure and feel like by having sex they will get the guy to stay with them...

I think most of it is family problems and they need to to feel loved and I think they just get a boyfriend for somethere so they know that they will not be alone and will have someone that loves them.
