I definitely know how you feel. I was pregnant with my twins throughout the summer months (the heat makes pregnancy harder) and carried them until 39 weeks....imagine how I looked!
Your due date may be off and that's why you're so much bigger than anticipated or your baby could just be a very healthy child. Just relax, get plenty of rest, keep your feet up and stay hydrated through this heat. Congratulations!

Yes, there certainly is such a thing as being too big. Your Doctor should be monitoring this and if he/she is concerned, could schedule an ultrasound earlier to check for amount of fluid/size of baby, etc.

I think though, that everyone feels like a beached whale in those final weeks of pregnancy. Best wishes to you for an easy labor/delivery and a perfect baby!!

Well, a dr will tell you if you have overgained. I did. I was at 203 lbs when I was checked into the hosp for daughter's birth. I am only 5'6" so that is alot of extra weight. Though he said i gained alot and he said the baby would be big, she was normal (7 lbs 2 oz- 22 in long) and I dropped from 203 to 160 by the time I checked out. Youll make it girl just hang in there. Hope everything goes as planned!

Without an ultrasound, it can be impossible to tell how much of that hugeness is bloating, amniotic fluid, and baby. Try to wait. If the baby is too big, the only thing that would happen would be you would have to have a c-section. If you already plan on a c-section anyway, this shouldn't be a problem. Hang in there, I know that last month can be tough!

There is no such thing as being too big when pregnant. Your baby might have to come out a little sooner than expected, but everything will be fine. But whatever you do, DON'T TRY TO TELL THE DOCTOR WHAT TO DO ABOUT THE SITUATION.

Some women just tend to put on more weight than others during pregnancy. As long as your doctor is not worried about your size, try to relax. It must be almost unbearable with the heat, and I really feel sorry for you in that respect.

Of course, if your water breaks soon, you won't have to worry about the ultrasound on the 24th. If you're really worried, talk to your doctor about your concerns. Maybe he'll move the ultrasound up.

Depends on houw big you are........ Your due date might be off and you will get luck and go into labor soon, or you may just be having a really big baby. I had twins so I know what you mean by by being huge. i flet like my skin was going to tare away from my body and all was going to fall.

If the baby gets to big then I would bet your doc will get it out ASAP I know that you have already talked to him but I would really let him know that you are just down right misirable. I would see if I can get a closer U-sound just to make sure

hang in there darlin!
we're on the same train. i'm down to 6 weeks and i also feel like a beached whale and i've only gained about 20 pounds.

i don't think it matters how much you've gained....i think it's due to that baby getting HUGE in there and moving all around making you feel like you just ate 5 entrees at olive garden!

hang in there and keep up your water intake. ice cold water helps me feel better!

Is this your first baby? I am the youngest of 4 and my siblings said our mom was HUGE when she was pregnant with me, and went two weeks late with me.
