Only if you will be involved EVERY step of the way. You will need to screen for scam agencies, perverts, and monitor that your daughter is maintaining a healthy level of SELF ESTEEM. She should not be pressured to maintain a certain weight to model or deny herself important nutrients by dieting, as her body is still developing. These considerations aside, modeling can increase her poise, posture and self esteem if it is managed properly and remains something she ENJOYS doing.

I started modeling when I was 9, and it suddenly became my favorite thing. It's a great career as well as a hobby. I think it would be a great idea to let her, keeping in mind a few things: Choose an agency after comparing it to others for price, and other aspects such as diversity and willingness to help your daughter.
Your daughter has a unique look, for example, she's taller than me, and she weighs more than me, and I'm almost 14! I'm sure an agency would be willing to accept her for her unique look. By the way, you wanna know a cool fact? Modeling is the only carrer where women consistently make more money than men.

I experimented in the modeling industry around the same age...quite an experience, nothing life changing. I would wait if it's something she's serious about. If and when she does start, watch out for scams! They're everywhere. While it's argued, in my opinion, Barbizon Modeling School is the worst thing you could ever get yourself into. Keep your eyes peeled for any school that charges you a HUGE sum of money. And bare in mind that any legit agency will ask for NO MONEY before or directly after signing your daughter (not for photos, organizing her portfolio, NOTHING!). Best of luck to both of you!

if you choose the right place then yes. But there are many places that trick you into thinking they are modeling agencies, and only see you once then never contact you again. If you go to this type of place your daughter will probably get disappointed, so be careful where you choose and good luck.

What do you feel is right for her?? Do you think she can handle it. Maybe you should start off with trying a pagent. If she can handle a pagent then maybe she is ready to model. www.namiss.com My little cousin did that pagent and the have a modeling part of it. Hope it helps!!

No. She is too young to decide on anything related to work/earning money. She need to wait until she is at least 18. Protect her from the harm that could come from it: dropping out, meeting shady people, not using her brain as much as she should.... Until she is mature enough to make her mind (18 is still young!)

my younger sister got into modeling and we found out it was a mistake: to sign up, it was $50. then, she got a chance to go to jacksonville for a photoshoot. for each person coming, it was $100, didnt matter if it was her family(im not really sure why, but thats what my mom told me). for each shot taken it was $500-1000. so basically, if you have money, and lots of it, go for it.

I think you should, it is a great idea. It's a great way to pay for college. You as a parent have to keep your child grounded.

You only should if she is good in school and well behaved. If she loves it and thats her dream, then you should let her achieve it.
