Smart people are grrrrrrrreat!

I think I'm pretty cool. Ha ha...just kidding about the me being smart part! :)
However, I completed secondary schooling with the highest marks of my secondary school class. I have never gotten below a 5 which is the same as an "A" in North American schools. I was a "pyatyorishnik" or someone who had all fives which are the highest marks possible throughout secondary school.
I then finished an undergraduate chemistry degree with a biology minor concentration with the same sorts of grades...only I had gotten a a few fours, but very few. A 4 is similar to a "B" here. In case you were wondering where such a grading scale is used, I attended school and the undergraduate university in the Russian Federation.
I may be academically talented, but in reality I suppose I've got no common sense! How many times can one really go to the doctor for having M&M's stuck up his nose to make a bit of spare change from bets about how many will fit? You'd think I'd have learned after the first time! I just went yesterday for this problem...and I'm 24!

What do you mean by smart? Someone who is smarter than one person might seem stupid next to another person. So there is no real way to say how you feel about someone being "smart". I've met many people who are smarter than me, but I also know that in my areas of expertise, they would be idiots compared to me. You also don't really know how smart someone is, unless you've spent alot of time with them and know that they know alot about more than just one thing. Otherwise they could be completely stupid, but know alot about one particular thing, which makes them seem smart.
As for people that I know for sure are smarter than me, and who actually do something with that intelligence, I'm proud of them for using their brains, rather than letting them go to waste, but for those who are smart but never do anything with it, they might as well be stupid.
People who are smarter than you can really help you in life, if you don't give them the chance to make you feel stupid.

P.S. A 4.0 GPA means you can memorize things from books after wasting hours of you life per day staring at it, and still not have a lick of common sense. Yeah, sweetheart, you're smarter than me. You go ahead and keep telling yourself that. What ever makes you feel better about yourself. I highly doubt you really have a 4.0 anyway. But nevertheless it doesn't really matter. It's all about how easy it is for you to figure things out that nobody teaches you.
P.S.S Smart people don't call other people "dumb". You use big words like underdeveloped, feebleminded, or insensate.

I like smart people. I have a 4.0 GPA .
Sometimes though, smart people can be really book smart, but still have no common sense. Those types I dont really care to talk to. There has to be a balance.

Depends on your definition of smart. Experience has shown me that the more "education" a person gets, the less common sense they have. What good is a PhD when you don't even know how to open a door?

I know I'm one of them. It helps to be a little smart in terms of having common sense and knowledge of people and the world.

Aah... They're really great, but not essentially successful ones. There are loads of smart people who aren't successful at all, and there are lots of people who aren't smart, but are really successful because of their hard attempt.

i wish i was someone who was focused and stuff like smart people. i am smart but not smart smart. i get good grades but not good good grades.
