My husband and I have been TTC and this morning my period is due. I took a test this AM (first responce) and there was a VERY FAINT 2nd line. Basically if you were to see it sitting on a counter, you couldn't see the line, but if you picked it up and looked, you could see it. My husband also saw it so I know it wasn't just my imagination. What I am asking is, has this ever happened to anyone then come to find out you were/were not pregnant? Yes, I will be taking another one if I don't start in a couple days

Honey you are pregnant any time a pregnancy test detect the hormone caused by been pregnant it will show. When I took my test when I first missed my period the line was also faint but I took another and it was a little darker but the longer you let it sit the darker it will probably get. So Congrats because you are pregnant.

A faint line indicates that the level of hormone "human chorionic gonadotropin" or hCG on the sample tested is very low (as your hCG level at this period is expected to be low). The presence of hCG no matter how faint is the result suggests that you are pregnant. (hCG is a hormone produced by placenta after the implantation of the embryo to the uterus.) Do the test with the midstream early morning urine as it can yield a beter result ( follow carefully the instructions especially the time of reading the result ) HCG level increases as your pregnancy progresses. If test line appears, its positive - No matter how much dark or faint it is. It basically picks up hcg fron urine,when its there hence line appears.
Try another test of different brand on Morning first urine.
Don't see the results after 5minutes of sample poured and don't try to search for line

Sounds like the pregnancy test was defective which is why anytime you buy a pregnancy test you should buy 2. I've had one say I was pregnant when I wasn't.

it's possilbe that the test was defective. also, it may have been confused since that was the day u were supposed to start ur period. take another one and see what it says.

Wait a week or so and try it again.
