Breastfeeding is a personal decision and only you can make that. Your baby will not die if you decide not to so don't let people tell you that you HAVE to. Your doctor will not induce labor unless you are 1-2 weeks after your due date or if the baby is in distress.

With my first son I was over a week on my due date and I had to have labor induced. Now days they have a little pill they put up there and it starts labor with in hours. I didn't think that the inducing labor hurt it was the LABOR that hurt. As far as inducing the doctors know what they are doing and if they didn't think something was safe they wouldn't suggest it. That baby and you are their priority. But it doesn't hurt inducing but the labor does hurt. They always say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I learned alot while I was in labor it's just another thing women have to indure in life. It hurts like heck but in the end isn't it worth it? As far as breastfeeding I tried and he wouldn't take and he is perfectly normal even though he didn't breastfeed. It's all in your preference. good luck and enjoy being a mom.

It doesn't hurt to induce labor. Labor hurts. Period. All inducing does is speed up the labor process.
Breastfeeding has to be your decision, and your decision alone. Most people will tell you how good it is for the baby, and how you'll probably lose weight faster...etc. But if it's something that you're not comfortable doing - then don't do it.

Induction is different for every women, I went into labor naturally with my 1st and it was fast and hard with no warning and incredibly painful. I was induced with my son and I never was in much pain at all. I could only breastfeed for a few weeks but it was an amazing experience I got to share with my son. I highly suggest it. Although be prepared and get educated because it can be painful if done wrong and it's always best to learn about anything you want to do good.

Giving birth is going to hurt no matter how it is started. If you need to be induced, it will not hurt any more or less than if you go into labor naturally. Yes, you should breastfeed, that is what your boobs are for. It is better for you and for the baby. It is a lot cheaper too and no bottles to wash and sterilize. No bottles to heat up and it's extremely portable. You can breastfeed, even if there is not much milk at first it will come in and your baby will have enough.

Labor hurts wether you are induced or not. But dont be too quick to let them induce. Just wait and see what your doctor says. But they shouldnt let you go past 2 weeks after you are due. Breastfeeding is up to you. It is the healthiest for your baby but there are formulas out there that are really good too. Good luck.

If u are more than one 1wk past your due date u may consider being induced and they will give meds. for the pain if u have back labor and as far as breast feeding well lets just say my last child is 3 and he's healthy and he was a preemie,i breast fed him and he gained the weight fast after wiehging in 6lbs and 9 ounces and was a month early and i was dilated to 5 and my labor stopped then they induced me as well.

There are natural labor inducers. Have sex, eat spicy food, have a foot rub (seriously-that is how i went into labor). Some dr's will induce early, if you ask them...but don't get too impatient. Enjoy sleep while you can. :)....JK, talk to your Dr if nothing else works and see what he thinks.
As for breastfeeding it is healthiest for the baby compared to formula. But its painful. I stopped at three weeks. But its up to you.

i have had 4 natural labors and 1 induced labor . with the induced the contractions came so quick one after another , but it only lasted about 30 minutes from the time they finally got me to start contracting . they tried for an hour with nothing happening , so they broke my water then upped the medications to induce . things went quicker than expected for everyone .
each birth induce or natural is different . so what one may say happened to them there are thousands who it didnt happen to .
as far as breast feeding , go for it . it is better for the baby and you .

I would try to avoid induction unless there was a strong medical reason for it. Labor will be easier if it comes on it's own than if it is forced.
YES! You should breastfeed your baby! Breastmilk is BEST for babies. It's FREE and it's also healthy for mom! The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests nursing for at least the first 12 mos. I'd encourage you to commit to the first six weeks before deciding if you want to continue or not. Once you get past the first 6 weeks...it gets easier! That's the hardest part!
