The Descent is, hands down, one of THE best horror films to come around in years. I bought the DVD a few months ago, then got EXTREMELY excited when I saw it was hitting US theaters. It was originaly released last year in the UK, and I bought the DVD after it hit the UK shelves (got it off e-bay). It can be compared to The Cave, BUT, it's everything that The Cave wasn't. The Cave was pretty crappy. But yes, this is DEFINITELY one the best best horror film in years. A MUST SEE!!!

Neil Marshall's earlier film was quite good - worth watching once.
I heard this one's even better - would try to watch it for sure if it opens at a theatre near me! :)
Hey, for me, one of the better horror flicks ever (of the subtle variety and not the 'Dog Soldiers' type) was 'The Shining' (by Stanley Kubrick)... has any1 here seen it?

Yeah on Saturday. My dad wants to see it. Never saw the other one. Not too big a horror fan.

The Descent looks good. Also, the previews for Pulse freaked me out. That one looks good too!

Definitely going to see it. I need to see a good scary movie. I was one of those who wasted two hours of my life watching "American Haunting"

I've seen it.
Some bits are genuinely claustraphobic.
But other bits are laughable.
They should have left the monsters to our imagination.
Sorry if that's spoilt it at all.
