I have heard people, both from Philly and from other places, say that Philadelphia's sports fans are among the worst in the country as far as their attitude and sportsmenship goes. Do you agree with this, and if so, why do you think it's like that?

Philadelphia sports fans are the most passionate fans in America. They simply demand all out effort from their players. They must deal with sports owners whose actions have not produced a champion in 23 years. The Eagles, who are clearly the favorite team in Philadelphia, hasn't hoisted a championship flag in 46 years. When you demand excellence and it comes up woefully short year after year, it makes you awnry. When our teams produce there are no better fans on earth. And once and for all; I was there booing along with everyone else at Santa Claus. He was in a poor costume, and he was drunk. We demand excellence in our Santa Clauses too; and when they don't deliver they get booed as well. Oh, and we will ALWAYS boo the opposing team mercilessly. To us, they are the enemy; plain and simple. I hate "well behaved" fans who politely applaud for the opposing team. Before you knock Philadelphia fans, take a walk in our shoes.

I think that Philadelphia fans tend to be over-zealous, especially when it comes to the Eagles.
They're there when the team wins, and they're there when they lose. Philadelphia fans are the biggest die-hard fans you'll find. They do go a bit too far, c'mon, they booed Santa Claus!
For the most part it's all in good fun (yelling "sucks" after an opposing team member is introduced), but yes, there are some out there who take things waaaay too far.
But I think if you're trying to find any fans of any other sports team more dedicated, you'll be hard pressed.

No,as a Philly sports fan, I feel that we are more passionate than other sports fans, and it comes arcoss as unfriendly to other sports fans. We do get frustrated a lot easier, but we,ve only one 1 sports championship in 23 years (If u exclude the Phantom's cup win 2004) This city is also very big with football, and we've never won a Super Bowl and came close 4 years in a row. I hope you undrestand our frustration, plus we,ve had a lot of jackass athletes like Allen Iverson and Terrell Owens

philly fans are by far the worst
the reason they are is because they have not won a championship since 1983 (76ers)
philadelphia is the last 4-sports city (phillies, 76ers, eagles, flyers) to not win a championship

The "City of Brotherly Love" gets left at the stadium gates man! Philly fans are horrible. They boo their own team!! They will boo anyone and anything whenever possible. They love to throw sh*t on the field and torment their players. They will turn on a player in a heartbeat! Why are they like that? Who knows man, but there is something in the water in Philly.

Absolutely nothing. I do think that they're tired of forking out good money to watch a bunch of overpaid, under overachievers waltz their way from game to game, week to week. They spend lots of money and they don't get their money's worth. Some of my best friends are from Philly and there is nothing wrong with them that a championship in SOME sport wouldn't cure.

When was the last championship? 1980 Phillies, 1986 76ers? 1974-75 Flyers.....Never won a Super Bowl...........Thats not a lot to cheer about in the last 20 years.

the only people that dint know they are the worst is Philly fans.one time i went to a eagle message board to give em a little constructive criticism they cursed me and my family.Jesus no wonder why they cant win.they re fans are bitter sour faced pusses.
