I read somewhere's on the internet that you can do a colonic on yourself using a hose attachment to a spout and clean out your colon? Have any of you tried it, do you recommend it and do you have any links to websites that deal with this issue?

I thought of trying it because I heard that colonics are supposedly good "colon cleansers"

No. That's not possible, and very dangerous.

My boyfriend has had colonics before...not something i think i would want someone doing to me...there are other things you can do though....laxatives, herbal supplements that contain psyllium husk, enemas, and the drugstores sell something that is called colon cleanse. That would probably be your best bet. And i am sure it is way less embarassing than going through the whole colonic procedure.

you can get an enema bag from the drug store. you will need to do it 3-4 times to get similiar effects of a colonic. to get it through your intestines, start off in the tub on your left side for a few minutes, then in fetal for a few, then on your right. get a good enema recipe. you can also do internal salt water cleanse by mouth.

some people still think that colonics is more thorough.

yes--you can do a colonic at home--there are plenty of home colonic sites on the web with instructions and suggestions for doing it properly with no damage to your system.
I have done it many times and feel great afterward.
do your homeowrk--talk to professionals in your area--(they are there, you just have to look)

Never heard of doing it on yourself but I would not recommend it. In fact I just found out what this meant the other day, and I can't imagine trying to do it on yourself...no offense, but why would you awnt to??
