I used to be just like you. I started my period at 12 and suffered till at 17 I decided I needed to get on birth control. So I went to my doctor and got on birth control. It makes your period A LOT lighter and less crampy. That was the first time I ever had to only use a regular tampon!! I used to have to use super or super plus. Talk to your doctor and you can figure out what method is best for you. If you have any other questions send me an e-mail.

Depending on the size of the person along with many things will triger when a person will have their period. I started at age 13, but there are women out there who starts at 19.
My sister has extreme heavy bleeding problems which last for one month. The doctors said it was normal.
My periods used to last up to 7-8 days. Now it's easing up to 3-4 days. My GYN doctor said it's okay as long as you have your period. Unless you have other health problems.

I had the same problem, 7-8 days, very heavy, sometimes I ate midol like candy, not smart, I know, but I just want it to stop! My periods started when I was 14, and it was during Thanksgiving Dinner, at my grandma's house! But heads up to all who see this...my periods got worse around 30. I kept complaining to Dr.s who looked at me like I was stupid. Turns out I had a tumor in the lining of my uterus, and it attached itself to my abdomin. So every month, was tearing itself off, thus all the pain. My Dr. took out my uterous...and every thing else too! Telling me that they should take everything, that I "might " get cancer. Then put me on Premarin, which causes Cancer. I was NOT well informed, and now I'm always miserable, hot, bitchy, and gained alot of weight. Now I KNOW, and I'm angry. When u go to the dentist to get a tooth pulled, he doesn't pull the one next to it because it "may" get a cavity some day. Ladies, don't let them take everything, just the tumor, At least be well informed, of options before you do. They didn't discuss anything with me, treatment, medications, or even the surgery. I was terrified because I was out of state, and no family around me, and I feel taken advantage of, and I feel screwed! I have to live like this!
