I am not going to mention ones that are really terrible but, we all know someone that is addicted to something for which we believe they should be locked-up or publicly persecuted.
Why is can't you understand what they are feeling or why do you not want to understand?

With an addiction there are two halves fighting for control... the part that wrote this question is the Sober Voice... the other voice inside of you telling you to smoke, or drink, or do drugs is the Addicted Voice. (and it is very sneaky)
By recognising that simple fact alone.. that you are not your addiction, will help you defeat it and deal with cravings.
Only after living clean for a year or more do you appreciate what the difference really is... but you can do it, and there are web forums out there to help you quit.

Also there are free podcasts you can listen to, yahoo groups you can join, etc.
To beat it you must talk about it ... which will make easier to beat...

An addiction is a weakness. IT's not that one can't or doesn't want to understand. It's that some people are weaker willed and won't get sympathy for others because of it.

Some addictions are... better than others..I'm addicted to watching tv, caffiene and choclate,,,
But if it comes to drugs, porn..ect..that is a different thing. My addictions I hurt myself not anyone else.

i understand the feeling because i am addictid to Dr.pepper.i kno its not as bad as drugs,but its hard
