About four months ago, my new car was hit from the back by a neighbour accidentally. He told me that he would pay for all the cost to fix it instead of his insurance. I agreed. Later I called him about the cost and he agreed the amount. But he never pay me or contact me since then. Now few months has passed, I finally found out that he got laid off and is working in another state. Can anybody give me any suggestion on it?

If you made a police report, contact his insurance company which will be listed on the report. If not, call him and ask him for his insurance information. Last resort, go through your insurance (even though there will be a deductable ) and they will track his *** down and get reimbursed...

What you did was have a gentleman agreement. I was told by a police officer they don't work. You should have called the police and had an accident report filled out. Then you are supposed to contact his issurance company and file a claim. They will then tell you to get a quote and agree with the price. Sadly, from what you are saying about your case I think your screwed.
