His daughter collects welfare now for her self and baby. His daughters mother still collects support on her from my husband. If she is a mother her self now I think the support should stop. His daughter is not in school.

My Husband is not saying he doesnt want to pay his support. Nor I saying for him not to pay his support. We have people asking us if he still has to pay. I do think that yes the baby needs assistance. But I dont think she should get both. Ever time the daughter comes over here she has on rags and never has things she needs. she tells us the mother spend the money on her self to go to school.
She didnt even get proper fitting clothes while she was pg. only what we bought her.
My husband support thre girls and buys them a lot of stuff. plus they get B-day and X-mas Presents. They have now 5 people in a two bedroom apartment. My Husband pays $1000 dollars a month they should have a bigger palce to live.
The Bottom line is Yes I think he should pay till she is 18 or out of school. She is not going to school. I think if she is collecting welfare now for her self and the baby, the mothers support for that one child should go to state Not the mother.
I do belive in paying child support

Listen, no disrepect, but dont start complaining about your husband paying child support. You knew he had kids when you married him. That child support is money OWED to the mother--period. It doesnt matter that the girl had a baby--gets welfare, whatever..I'm sure there were times that her MOTHER paid for things because your husband could not at the time. That is HER MONEY NOW--period.
I get so tired of black women marrying men with kids, then complaining about child support. I bet you'd want YOUR child support money if your husband left you and went and started taking care of another family!.... And no I do not have children, for the very reason of not wanting baby daddy/babby momma drama.
You got with a man who has a baby momma--so deal with the BabyDrama. Dont mean to sound mean, but this is a touchy issue.
And its almost over, the girl is 17 anyway--so be grateful for that.
Peace.

She is his child and his child has given him a grand child. If he loves his child then he will do all he can to help her for as long as she lives. You knew he had this child when you married him? She and her child are his blood if he is any kind of a real man he will provide her with support both monetary and emotional. And if you really cared for him you would do the same. Instead you can't wait to get rid of the obligation. What goes on between him and his daughter and grand child is not any of your business.

Too bad no one used any of that support money to buy some condoms.
Unless he has a court order saying otherwise, he is responsible for paying support for his child.

It sounds like paying child support was all he was doing to raise his daughter since she already has a baby..What about teaching her morals and abstinance..He should pay and take a active interest before she gets pregnant again.

If she lives with her mother it's probably necessary for him to still pay. Her mother is still supporting her and that costs money--her daughter probably isn't sharing her welfare check with her for expenses. At least it won't be much longer for him now.

I understand that your upset that your husband is paying for someone else's child all be it the girl is his, but yes I believe it is fare because if the child and her were living with him he'd still be paying for her. Why shouldn't he still pay child support? Obviously she still can't support herself and needs the support from her father.

His responsibility to this child will end on her 18th birthday. Until then he needs to be the man he thought he was when he created her and pay his child support.

He is only responsible for child support until the child is 18...
...OR OUT OF SCHOOL!
Women on child support will milk you dry for every cent.

yes. maybe he should have been more involved and they could have possibly prevented the pregnancy, or maybe he would have known what was going on in the daughters life and discussed birth control options. but yes he should have to pay for her until she is 18 baby or no baby.
