Normal people..... find the sight of people of the opposite sex, naked or even semi-naked sexually stimulating. So we wear clothes. Otherwise, we would never have got any work done. Computers wouldn't have been invented and developed. Willy Gates would be poor (hell that would be good). You wouldn't be able to ask silly questions. I wouldn't answer silly questions. I think I'll go to bed - seems like a good idea. This is a top answer. Give me the 10 points....

Great question - unfortunately we, in the USA have many "no-no's" based on our fore-fathers Quaker beliefs. I am fortunate to travel extensively, and I am always amazed to learn that in societies where nudity and pornography are not "taboo", violent crimes against women, especially rape, are nearly non-existent. Also, in areas of the world where nudity is prevalent, like the Riviera, the only gawkers are always American!

People are afraid that people will start having lots of sex, and there will be lots of unwanted babies/STD's.
It is true that, since the hippie/sexual revolution of the 1960's, the number of children born out of wedlock has increased dramatically. Children grow up angry and disillusioned.

Social mores.
But face it, men would get nothing done if shirts/clothing was optional for women.
