apparently Ms. Allknowing doesn't get the question. If I had the money to buy an original, mint copy of Action Comics #1, I would pay about $250,000. There are only less than 5 or 6 mint copies available.

Yes, you can buy a cheap reprint, but that is not the same as holding THE original copy;the one that made history. The original has more sentimental value and worth having than a stupid reprint. Ebay my ***.

This is a gag, right? If you were really John Byrne, the artist who's worked for both Marvel and DC and drawn Alpha Flight and Superman, you would have enough connections in the comic book community to be able to find a copy, and you'd know how much it was worth. And Superman would never be able to pose as Clark Kent, because he could never stand to be a mere mortal.

The REAL John Byrne would not need to ask such a question. nice try, buddy.

right now ... I wouldnt pay more thatn $10 000 for it. But if I had the money to burn .. I'd pay almost up to a half million for it. .. Its acutally worth that much, not only for the fact that its the first superman, but its the most iconic comic ever made. I dont think anyone could have made one more iconic. ... again .. I dont have the money to buy it .. but the original in mint condition could easlily sell for almost a half million

I've found 1st editions for as little as $3.50...sometimes less. Don't pay an arm and a leg for it! Check Ebay or old comic books stores if all else fails!

I heard that baby sells for $260,000 tops. I would not pay that though. I would pay $1,000 at most.
