Rapists and child molestors get married everyday. So, what's with all the opposition towards gay marriages?

Let me rephrase this before I get shot...lol in my previous question, I was in no way trying to equate rapists and child molestors with the LGBT community. I have friends who are gay and they are neither of the two (that I know of anyway...lol). I just simply wanted to know what's all the fuss about banning gay marriages.

LOL are you trying to get a rise out of the gay community by comparing us to rapist and child molesters?
Just curious why you would use such provocative words to ask a question we might normally agree with?
Edit
I think that there should be a test administered before people are allowed to get married and what ever their gender allow it based on weather they are compatible and mature. I feel the same about breeding. If a person is wanting to have a baby they should be required to take a test as to whether they have enough sense to breed. I think that would definitely get rid of a lot of the overpopulation we have now and also get rid of all the dumb@ssphucks we have around in our section. ☺

I understood what you meant. And I agree. The laws allows the really bad guys to get married and produce children. The gay coommunity is looked upon with the same disregard and disgust as the rapists and molestors. It's VERY sad because the majority of the gay community do not look at children and think of them as sexually appealing. I can guarantee that I most certainly DO NOT!!!

Well, while I agree that there's nothing wrong with gay marriage, I wouldn't compare it to rapists and child molestors getting married. Perhaps sterile people?

You got me ... I don't see anything wrong with gay marriage. In fact, I happen to be a legally married gay woman.
I'm not sure I really like being brought up in the same question as rapists and child molesters though. I'm not either one, and no gay person I know is.

There should be no opposition to gay marriage in a country that prides itself on the separation of church and state. Religion has no say in the matter.
Do not equate rapists and pedophiles with LGBT people since over 90% of such criminals are straight. That wasn't your intent, was it? If so, please update your statistics - and your mindset.

wow, rapists and child molesters....i think that gay people have the right to be happy = and i certainly wouldn't put them in the same league. you are right to show the disparity -- perhaps those who protest the happy unions of gay couples are secretly defending against their own desires to do the same....."they protest too much"....then who knows, everyone needs someone/something to rant about -- can't we all just get along? lol.

I wonder if it means that religious people hate gays even more than they hate rapists and child molesters.
