I heard yesterday that willy randoph, mets manager traded Xavier Nady to the Pirates!!!! Nady was an asset to the Mets, and would have been a lot of help in a great year. Was this a good choice?? Who did the Mets get in return?

They traded Nady cause they needed a relief pitcher since Duaner Sanchez is out for the rest of the year. They got Roberto Hernandez and the young starter Oliver Perez (who may end up being a steal).

For future reference, managers don't make the trades, General Managers do. Omar Minaya made the trade for the Mets.

1) Nady isn't very good.
2) Milledge is ready to play and better than Nady
3) Nady got traded for Roberto Hernandez and Oliver Perez
4) Roberto Hernandez will help the Mets bullpen
5) Oliver Perez may turn out to be great
6) Xavier Nady isn't very good.

Great trade for the Mets. They traded an excess part for a decent reliever, a possible starting pitcher, and made room for Milledge.

Duane Sanchez the best 8th inning guy in the game was in a season ending traffic accident, Sunday after the Braves game. They were able to fill the spot with adequate production from Chavez and Milridge, Excellent Fielding good hitting. Pitching wins world series, the pitcher the got from thr pirates is a young lefty, advantage of the trade NY Mets.

The Mets needed a reliever after their arguably best setup man Duaner Sanchez got into a car accident (which he didnt cause, he was in a taxi), so they traded Nady for pitching.

They traded Nady to get Roberto Hernandez (RP) and Oliver Perez (SP), I think it was a good trade. Met's needed pitching and a bullpen, and Nady wasn't doing to much for them.

Just to correct you: the manager (in this case, Willie Randolph) does not trade players; that is done by the general manager (in this case, Omar Minaya).

In return, the Mets got Roberto Hernandez and Oliver Perez.

They traded Nady because Sanchez got hurt and they needed pitching.
