I have a dimple on my back, some bowel and bladder problems, slight hemiplegia, and I used to have a hunchback. Is this spina bifida occulta?

Spina bifida is a lesion of the spinal cord. There is no function below the leasion as the nerves have been destroyed. It happens in utero when the neural tube that becomes the spinal cord fails to completely close. foetal ureah from foetal urine gets to the developing spinal cord because it is not enclosed completely. the ureah attacks and destroys tthe developing nerves in the spinal cord. Since you have some movement in the lower limbs it is not spina bifida. But it sounds like a serious neurodegenerative condition that should be investigated by neurologist specialist physicians as soon as possible, they may be able to stop or even reverse some of the degeneration..
Incidentally spina bifida incidence has droppred off dramatically since the discovery that maternal folic acid ( folate), deficiency was the cause in the majority of cases.

Spina bifida would have been diagnosed when you were born (or perhaps beforehand).
