It may look gruesome, but it merely means that body fluids have pooled overnight in the eye area. Generally, you can trace early-morning puffiness to your activities of the previous day: You drank fluids at bedtime, ate salty foods, spent all day with your head bent over a garden or stayed up half the night. The worst of the swelling subsides a few hours after rising as the fluid is re-absorbed by your body. You may also have puffy eyes as part of an allergic reaction—from eating strawberries, for example, or from sleeping on feather pillows. Hormonal changes during menstruation can puff up eyes, too. I use Arbonne's NutriMinC RE9 Eye cream....Corrective Eye Crème, (i buy it online at: http://arbonnepuertorico.myarbonne.com under shop online) you will enjoy immediate visibly firming and moisturizing benefits. This formula moisturizes the delicate skin around the eyes and reduces the appearance of dark circles and puffiness, write them and you could receive their samples, anyway the best thing is that they are formulatted with botanical principles and formulatted without mineral oil, animal prooducts or fragrances which all these ingredients are very harmfull for our skin.. Mineral oil is the 2nd worse thing we could do to our skins health for it is like rubbing car oil on our skin and exposing ourselfes to the sun, animal products come from dead animals and these come from rendering plants these plants pick all dead animal and dead animal parts (from meat houses, etc.) and they put it in a huge pot, squash everything and boils it, what ever comes to the top is the oil other companies use to elaborate thier products, gross I know...the lipstick... ewww anyway, that is why i use botanically based products which is way much better because they get absorbed and the nutrients inside the products is what helps our skin look and feel healthy...they are not sold in stores but it is a great way to buy becasue they have this money back guarantee if for some reason there is something you do not like from the products you get your money back guarantee (within 45 days from purchase) so you have nothing to loose, only ouffy eyes ;~) I know the info is too much but hope this is helpfull!!!

You may want to try to elevate your head just a little during your sleep. Water tends to concentrate in the extremeties that are lower elevated. Keeping your head at just a light elevation may help in reducing the puffiness caused by this.

Have you tried Visine eye drops or something like that? Maybe you're allergic to something. Call for a doctor appointment.

I have the same problem, so I went to my docter, and he prescribed, allegra d for allergies. I also went to the eye docter for changing my contact prescription. It could also be sinusitus, but you'd feel pain, pressure and headache if it were.
