For thriller I have to go with "The Shining". It's definitely one of the best movies ever made, horror or not. Jack Nicholson was amazing!!!

I was raised as a very strict Catholic and my mother is from Italy. When I was a kid I saw the Exorcist at the movie theatre I nearly shat myself. I still get the creeps from it. that one scared me because of the obvious demon possession thing.

As far as "slasher" movies go, I don't find them scary, but I did like Texas Chainsaw Massacre (parts 1 and 2).

Well, considering the Descent isn't out on DVD yet, I'd go with Hostel. Thats pretty scary

I don't think there are any scary movies left to be made. As you get older you have less fear. But you could try the new Hills Have Eyes. It has a couple spots I jumped at.

An American Haunting
The Haunting of Hill House
The Blair Witch Project
The Exorcist-special edition - it has a never before seen scene that had me creeped out for damn days

Hi, I think the descent was a bit over-rated myself. I hate horror films (they give me nightmares!) but I agree the oldies are the best and you cant get better than the original 'Omen' films. I think there were three of them, but they are scary! You dont neccesarily need loads of blood and gore to made a film scary, an atmospheric film which makes you jump is a lot better!

BOO!
