I work for a shoe factory in the returns dept, and this shoe store sent a pair of worn-defective shoes back expecting a credit and our policy is that we repair the shoes and send them back. I'm confused. Should I send the shoes back to her store all sneaky like or do I tell her whats up.?

Get with the sales rep and advise her/him that this customer is trying to stick it to you. A good rep will advise the customer that they you all are aware of the deal, and that they owe you one. The rep will use it as leverage for better terms. Don't let it slide, you are giving the customer value. If that's what it takes to save a valuable relationship, that's fine. Sometimes customers get fired though since they are too costly to keep happy, or are sleazy manipulators and the vendor has had enough.

Good luck.

If your policy is to simply repair the defect and send them back, why not just do exactly that and say that it is "policy" not to give a credit or refund? Sounds like you have a built-in excuse not to refund her money.

I'm not sure if I understood the question correctly, but it is best not to be sneaky, even if the customer is (sneaky people will complain loudly if you try to be sneaky back).

Maybe you could just return the shoes as is and say that it is your policy not to repair worn shoes.

Big stores (Macy's, etc) do give refunds even on used goods with a receipt - this is for good customer relations.

Sometimes people honestly don't know that the clothing or shoes don't fit correctly until they've worn them. That's why I never order any clothing items online - the chances of them not fitting, or not looking right, are so much greater.

I would tell the person at the shoe store where to stick it. Inform her that a customer obviously bought a pair of shoes, and returned their old used pair for a refund and that you are not refunding any credits for them being a dee dee dee

I would tell her that the shoes are beyond repair and that you can send them back if they would like. I hate it when people return really used goods expecing a full refund.
