Who cares what other people think? You don't have to go to church, read the Bible, or even practice a certain specific religion, but you can still have faith. Just because you don't go to church EVERY Sunday doesn't mean your going to be damned to Hell for eternity!

Fee, Fie, Foe, Fum, I smell a Catholic so here I come.
People don't think you are a sinner because you don't go to Church. They know you are a sinner and ought to go to confession so that you can go to church.
It is time to remind you of some old time lesson, lessons you should have been taught as a child. First, anywhere two or more people gather in Christ's name , that is a Church, so Yes; you can read the bible and pray on your own and be a good Christian, but; if you are a Catholic that is not enough. Church means Church for Catholics. The only exception is for the sick and dying and in those cases the Church will come to you. Why?
If you die with sins on your soul you are not supposed to go to Heaven. That is what Confession is for. You are supposed to go to Confession every week to make sure you are worthy of Heaven. In the good old days you went to Confession on Saturday and Mass on Sunday. That part in the Mass where they say "Lord I am not worthy to receive you but only say the word and i shall be healed." is a reminder that you are not to accept Communion with out first taking Confession. They are Sacraments that are to be taken in that order. Second, Church is all about Community, alarger family than that which you were born into. You are Baptized into that Community, you receive your first Confession to demonstrate that you are ready to share in Communion ritual and then you are Confirmed a Catholic showing your desire to be a memeber or the Community. You can then get married in that Community , become ordained in that Community and eventually receive Extreme Unction in that Community. That Community is there for you and you for that Community. And third, Not too long ago people took Church seriously, dressing up for it, arriving as a family, staying for Sunday school and prayer meetings, charity events and carnivals, and that was good.
If you think this is wrong, so be it, but: you asked so I told you about the morals of being a Church goer.

The general idea is that Christians ought to fellowship with other Christians for mutual encouragement. If you avoid fellowship with other Christians, that tends to be a witness against your sincerity in the faith (even if you actually are sincere).
Fellowshipping with other Christians is valuable because they can serve as role models for you and also enable you to view the Bible in ways that you might not have discovered from your own point of view.
It doesn't sound to me, though, like the church you're attending is very healthy. This whole "catching the Holy Ghost" thing during the service is unscriptural and usually fake. You might want to consider seeing if there's another, better church in the area.

people were scared into religion thousands of years ago by a magician name Jesus. they were all told that if they sinned they would burn eternally in hell. this is all a scare tactic to keep people in line. churches were developed as a means of funding these magicians and to give people hope for the future. if you ask me we are in hell and nothing we do is a sin unless your morals make you think so. don't be a moron believe in yourself!!!!!

I think it's good to go to church. It help guide you spiritually. It's important to find one that is encouraging to you though, not one where people are constantly judging you.
