I think it just seems that way (apart from whole brain size and development issue expressed here by someone else, which I don't refute), because women have more social abilities than men. Then when it comes to observing what women can accomplish in everyday and practical life (where it probably counts the most) women seem to be ablo to cope better. When it comes to other skills (no very useful in everyday life) like, advanced math, science, calculus, etc., men seem to be better at it. Therefore get better jobs and are paid more. If there were better wages and benefits for a lot of stuff that women do well but that are not acknowledged as productive assets yet, then women would probably earn way higher wages!. Some of this has come forth though. More and more, companies are hiring women for their Human resources departements and public relations, where they have proven to be very apt. This does not mean that women do not have the intelligence to succeed in technical careers. I just mean to say that we are naturally better at some skills than others, and therefore find it easier to perform in certain areas where men have to make great efforts to cope. -Like raising children on their own, which is by far no easy task.

I think in the United States it might be better to be a woman but I think in some of the countries where women are abused and treated like second class citizens it's probably better to be a man. So many women in other countries are raped and attacked and beaten on a daily basis and it's considered normal. I cannot think you'd want to be a woman in places like that. Otherwise, being a woman in a free country is a pretty darn good thing! I think women understand things better than men do -- most men I know are pretty darn clueless about the subtleties of human behavior.

We women don't know much more than men, just different kinds of things. For example, men don't really understand PMS or pregnancy. But then again, there are masculine mysteries, too. I don't think that it's better or worse to be a woman, at least here in the states. As for places like the middle east where women have few rights, I think it would be worse to be a woman.

They know a lot more than you might want to admit!

Only a woman knows when another woman needs a hug or a rub on the back. Only a woman knows when to soothe a child before they cry. Only a woman knows how to lead a man to clean a yard or garage on a hot day without begging him.

Only a woman knows how to calm the temper of a man who would be dangerous if provoked by another man....that is worth a ton of gold.

Well..men don't experience child-birth. Get paid more & they say it's a man's world. I am happy being female, never wanted to be anything else ! :) Of course women get to wear pretty and frilly stuff, can make ourselves look pretty with fun hairstyles, clothes, etc. Is that why men cross-dress? It's fun !! (being a woman)

well i mustsay yes and i cant say males are the dominant sexe cause that would be a lie.i guess males know what its like to be jerks(sometimes) and females know how it feels to be a *****(sometimes)this is no offence to any female or male this just states that no sexe is better.
