go to a CD store and buy a special CD cleaner. Inside there is directions of how to wipe it. I think its up and down, but check the directions once you buy it.

The smudges, try washing with soap and water with your fingers ONLY. Then get a very soft towel and dry them carefully in a circular fashion. I have kids so I get a lot of scratched and fingerprinted CD's. The scratches, I think there is a scratch repair kit out there.

the best thing, really, is to use window cleaner and buff to the best possible shine. I your disk still skips, duplicate it via a disk burner. The copy will not have the damages, even if badly damaged! Sometimes, unfortunately, even this doesn't work, then you're screwed, but it'll work over 85% of the time!

Try furniture polish--like Behold or Pledge--and a soft rag (not a paper towel). If that doesn't work, you may have to replace the CD.

pledge. I swear by it. If it screw's it up, I will personally buy you a new on. Spray Pledge (dusting stuff) directly on it. And wipe it in a strait motion. NOT CIRCULAR! If you wipe in a circular motion, it will scratch worse. Strait up and down. I promise it'll work.

mild soap , soft rag . or special solution. Scratches can be repaired with a bit of white toothpaste , but it might gunk up your player. You should fix it , rip it , then burn a new one.
