PS3 will be worth it. It will be far more superior to anything else on the market.

I'd say wait a little while and see what games are lined up for the PS3. Most of the games for the 360 seems to be sports games, but if that's what you're into, then I'd say get the 360. The console won't really matter if there's not much you want to play on it.
Even though you didn't mention the Wii, it does look like it will have some cool games.

I say wait for the PS3. Currently I know at least 3 people, personally, who have XBOX 360 and ALL of them had to send them back to the factory because they stop working after 4 months of having them. The good news is that Microsoft does send them a new 360 back in about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. Go to the site below to read about the XBOX 360 problems (not covered at all in the news). Check out the links below.

get the psp. it'll be able to interact with the PS3,so get it now. get a ince sized memory stick ( 1 or 2gb ), and just have fun with it. the xboz 360 is a little shaky, it has defects, dont trust it. once again i will mention i worked for sony during the development of the psp, and i will tell u that it is worth every penny u spend on it. u'll have games,music,movies,videos,wi-fi internet, pictures,GPS, and alot more within the next year, all in this wonderful portable device. =) wait to get the PS3, at least 4 months, let it works the defects out. sony has all the big label game companies, so stick with sony. microsoft is new on the game console scene, new trust new companies until they prove their worth, and that takes years. sony has proven that it develops top of the line products for all types of gamers to enjoy. get the psp, get a memory stick, play some games and download some stuff on it, just have fun. save some money, wait for the PS3, get it a few months after its release, and have fun with TWO top of the line products from sony that will be able to interact with each other, doubling their uses and your gaming experience.

Get the xbox 360, the graphica haven't even broke through to top quality, you are only seeing the beggining. ps3 will only look a little bit better and is 200 dollars more (waste of money). Psp is already dead technology. So get the 360.

PSP all the way. Anyone who says that it is dead is speaking out of ignorance. I can do anything that I want with my PSP. Play any game available for it. I also can play and NES, SNES, N64, and PS1 game. With a 2G pro duo card I can upload any movie. Plus it's WIFI. The possibilities are truly endless. If you get a PSP though, try to get one that has as old of firmware as possible.
Is UMD software dead? Sure. Until they create blank UMDs and provide UMD burners.
