I had a large hematoma when I was in college - signed up for a medical experiment involving leukophoresis and it went kinda wonky. Basically my blood was filtered and returned to me (less my white blood cells), but the return needle pulled out of the vein. So, whoops - I basically had a big blood bag in my elbow.

It stayed bruised for at least two months.

Anyway, it finally cleared up when I realized that vitamin D is very helpful for breaking down dead blood cells. An hour a day in the sun, and it was gone in a week and a half, maybe two weeks.

So, long story short, there's your answer: large bruises take a while to clear up, but drink some fortified milk and go frolic in your yard in shorts and a t-shirt. You should be good in no time.

(by the way, it's not a clot: you'd probably have at least some rotting flesh by now)

No dont fear approximately it. Some men and women simply heal slower than others. It is certainly not anything to fear approximately. My mother bumped her leg towards a couple of crutches ( they have been my dads on account that he had a swollen foot and couldnt stroll ) and he or she had a bruise for like four months and it certainly not went away. Its everlasting for a few unusual intent! <:o)

Absofrigginlutley!
Go to another Doc.
It still may be nothing but 3 months?
Is it still blue in color?
Or is it yellowish? If its yellowish , probably just a long healing bruise but , I would want to know why it took so long to heal.

Could it be a varicose vein?
