People will forget. Some other dumb celebrity will capture the attention of the world anyways some other time.

I feel that they should just leave Mel Gibson alone he been known for his past problems with drinking and drugs which he has expressed to the publicly. He just needs to get help for his drinking again and any other issues that are still bothering him to this day. It is wrong how the entertainment media and people who want to get there 5 minutes of fame are ganging up on him. They should just forgive him and forget about the incident. There are worst and bigger issues that need to be dealt with right now.

I forgive.
The thing is that he got drunk, said some stupid things. He may or may not be a bigot, I've never met the guy. Can't say. I just know that I've been drunk before, I've said and done things that I wish I hadn't. Things that I would never say or do normally. So he has a problem, he should get help. I know quite a few religious people out there saying that if he's christian he shouldn't be drunk, but lets face it.... how many of them haven't gotten drunk before...?

I think it's stupid - he's a human too. Just cause he's famous doesn't mean he cannot have fun once in awhile. When you drink too much, sometimes your brain doesn't tell you to do the right thing. If it had been like his third or fourth time getting picked up for it, then it would be a big deal.

Gibson's a smart, successful man - a goodlooking one at that! He made an awfully big mistake but who hasn't? To me...I'd say forgive and forget.

Hey...everyone has rough patches.
Just cause he's a celebrity doesn't make him a saint.
Everyone makes mistakes and I think that this should'nt be THAT huge a deal.

I say, "cut the man some slack". he's only human, and people make mistakes. I mean, it wouldn't be such a big deal if it had been an average person...

I have never liked him because of his self righteous holier than thou so called Christian politics, so I am delighted to see him exposed as a filthy mouthed drunken bigot. I hope he gets jail time.
