They praise cop killing - so long as they're American cops.

Sure, it isn't a reason to hate the French, it's just ANOTHER reason ;)

but good point with the district argument, Koo, but if houston was to do that (or the district you mentioned, forgot) I would blame them for the hate they would bring on America

so, yes, I would be mad at them too

mmmm. This is all so one-sided I don't even know where to begin.

OBVIOUSLY, you are not acquainted with the history of the murder. OBVIOUSLY, the page you show is an anti-Communist page. OBVIOUSLY, you have no idea of Paris as a METROPLEX.

Mumia was not a criminal who was robbing someone and shot them. It involved the cop, his brother and a confrontation that resulted in shot, and the cop died and Mumia himself was shot.

The cop died, and the argument for Mumia's arrest was that he murdered the cop, others say that he was DEFENDING his brother. His case was seen as a color discrimination issue, racist trial, etc. He received jail, but continues to fight for his freedom.

Now, Saint-Denis is a SUBURB of Paris that is administered by the Communist party (which the page you show is against) and therefore, named that street after him. His HONOR in Paris was not for the murder, it was for anti-death penalty reasons.

It's as if Santa Clara, a SUBURB of Houston nad heavily populated by white supremists, honors a KKK member, names a street there, and then you put a video up saying that Houston "honored" a KKK member AND that is another reason to hate Americans.

Come on man, learn some history!!

I'm so sorry to tell you this film is obviously a fake one. There's no road called like they say, and the road signs in Saint-Denis are not even done like this! I mean, I live in Paris and went to Saint-Denis several times. This road sign is a fake, the road names are on the walls, not on a post like this. Moreover, the sign won't look like this.
The question is, why this site tried to make people think France hates America? Everytime you will heard French people hates America, it will come from some medias, but you should only believe what you have experienced.
Personaly, I like Americans, and a large majority of French people do. Now, it's true that a large majority of French people don't like George Bush. But I think that's another issue.

Hey! No fair! That's a really crazy blog that doesn't reflect the views of the majority of Frenchmen and women. How would you like it if I held up a copy of the Anarchist Guide and claimed that this is why I hate all Americans - because they blow up schools and such? Or if I held up a picture of the Klu Klux Klan and claimed that all Americans are racist pigs?
You can't look at one crazy article and use it to judge an entire country.

That video does not look like a valid french vid.
It appears to be more of a few Americans that seem to be disfranchised and living abroad.
Probably some communist sympathizer group that has been expelled from our shores and ended up in france.
Either way, for them to do this vid and place it on the web is a disrespect to the fallen Officer and his family, but to America as a whole.
May they rot in hell.

They are actually doing us a favor in the UN by asking for an immediate ceasefire before they send troops, which gives the IDF more time to do a great job on Hezbolla. Don't let the peaceniks know that.

Hey - KooKooBananas actually gave an intelligent answer! I didn't you you had it in you! Or did someone borrow the computer while it was signed onto YA?

Keep it up KooKoo. It's so refreshing to hear some thoughtful discussion from you, rather than rabid anti-bush rants. (Not that you can't be anti-Bush for intelligent reasons.)

Correction, the French GOVERNMENT gave him a citizenship not the french people. Don't be stupid enough to think you have the whole story from that one film, American media puts spin on everything. Use your own mind for once.

The French opposed the Iraq war. What's to hate?

I was in France all last month, it was really cool. After the World Cup games, people would jeer and throw stuff at the cops driving by. It was funny.
Anyway, in my experience, American cops are assholes on power trips.
