On startup I get a msg that the above has encountered a problem and needs to close...After hitting "don't send" the msg clears and the system continues to work. Any suggestions/solutions would be appreciated.

This is the program which makes the special buttons on your keyboard work - I found this which confirms it

"zhotkey.exe is a process associated with the drivers for Chicony Keyboards. It manages the special key functions such as Internet, E-mail, Volume Control and more."

You need to reinstal the keybaod software either from disk or from their website.

remove keyboard software and reinstall it if u want. U need the software to use the extra buttons on ur keyboard such as volume and so forth.
Also since your getting crash error that your not sending to microsoft you should also go to your C:\WINNT\Minidump or C:\Windows\Minidump file and delete everything in there, this is where those crash files are stored and can cause error messages even when there isn't a problem

no no no...not the operating system.... listen, you have a keyboard which has special 'hot' buttons. that means that it can do special functions like maybe copy, paste, connect to internet... for some reason that executable file is not loading properly... it's not a big deal if you don't ever use those hot buttons... you could try re installing the keyboard (if you really care)

zhotkey.exe is a driver that drives chicony keyboards on e-machines. It also drives the extra buttons on multimedia keyboards.

Frankly, it's a useless driver unless you're using a chicony keyboard, and can be removed.
