I think it depends on your skin and how you pop it. I've popped thousands and I don't have the first scar. On the other hand, I have known people that never popped them and they look like a cratered moonscape.
I think it's better to pop them. Just never pinch them and/or push the pus farther down in. If possible, lance or cut the top with a sharp pin to weaken it so the pus has an escape. Grab the skin on either side with finger and thumb, getting behind and under the zit. With the skin and zit picked up, then roll the skin down until the zit squeezes out like a wringer.
I really liked popping zits. It's fun! I still get one once in awhile and I like to pop them. To me it's like popping bubble wrap.

Trust me, it will scar. It depends on how deep you're popping it. If a lot is coming out, it will more than likely scar. It made the pore bigger. Some pop until it bleeds from the pore. You know that will leave one. The smaller zits though, may or may not scar, because usually not much comes out. I started having acne at 12, and I'm 44 now. Now it's adult acne on my face, shoulders and back. On my shoulders and back, I use alchohol and clearacel. Same for my face, but with scarring, bactracin with zinc oxide is the best. It's a drawing ointment. Heals it faster.

it can pop scars. But emily, it is really better if you do not pop it. When you pop a pimple, you are only pushing the bacteria further into the pore. If by chance, you have already popped the pimple, you should buy Tea Tree Oil, it pretty cheap at Wal*Mart or Shoppers.. Just dab some onto a cotton ball, and apply to the popped zit, it is meant for this kind of thing anyways.
Tea Tree Oil is a natural antiseptic, germicide, antibacterial, fungicide. Many people use tea tree oil for: athletes foot, cold and flu, oral thrush, cold sores & canker sores, tooth ache & gum infections, ringworm, candida, head lice or louse, cleanser additive, gum problems, mosquito bites, bug repellent, cockroaches, deter flees, mouth ulcers, herpes, cuts, abrasions, after shave, sunburn, anorectal or vaginal yeast infections, unwanted body odors, ACNE, toe nail infections, and many other uses.
sorry, i thought i would highlight acne in there.. well see, for only a few bucks you can have an acne remedy, and all of the above. Hope this helped.. But to get ot the whole point, DONT POP PIMPLES! trust me from experience, i have some permanet scars from popping pimples, and it is not appealing at all.

The open wound healing is what causes the scar. If you can get rid of acne without popping it, it won't scar. Also, some people are just luckier and don't scar from it.

"Popping" zits has never left a scar on me. Just make sure to then cleanse the area very well to prevent infection and to prevent the released oils from resaturating nearby skin.

It's a myth. Whenever I have a pimple, I pop it. And I've never scarred.

Depends on the person. I used to do it and it left me scars. My best friend pops hers and she never scars.
