Valium (diazepam) is an anti-anxiety agent (benzodiazepine) used primarily for short-term relief of mild to moderate anxiety and the associated nervousness and tension. It may also be used to treat symptoms of acute alcohol withdrawal, to help control epilepsy or to relieve muscle spasms. Valium (diazepam) affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause anxiety, seizures and muscle spasms. Valium (diazepam) may also be used for other purposes.

He probably gave you that to help control your shakes. If concerned, talk to your doctor.

Side effects of vaccination vary slightly and include being off colour, being sleepy and swelling at the injection site (depending on what vaccine was given and how old the pup/dog is). In general, provided the puppy/dog was not incubating any diseases at the time of vaccination, these effects are fairly mild and can last for up to several days afterwards. Longevity is not necessarily a problem provided improvement is seen after a few days. In your case, your puppy's symptoms seem to be getting worse rather than better, which does still not necessarily mean anything is wrong. However, it must be borne in mind that your puppy may have been incubating something when he was vaccinated (or picked something up since then - vaccines take up to 2 weeks after the second injection to provide immunity), in which case the vaccine could really have knocked him for six. You're doing absolutely the right thing by taking him back, and your vet will be able to diagnose what the problem is. It's very unlikely that anything serious is wrong, however this is for your vet to decide. It is very unlikely that he is suffering from a true 'reaction' (rather than a pronounced immune reaction, the usual cause of 'side effects') as this is usually seen within 24 hours of injection and is more exaggerated. It is also usually limited to pronounced swelling at the site rather than systemic signs.
