My husband and I are very earthy people and this name just sounds like us. Please just tell me if you think this is a good name? Serious answers only plz.
I got this idea from the actor River Phoenix.

River is a very earthy, beautiful name....
but you should see if it fits the baby.

following your pregnancy is interesting. River is a cool name (no pun intended).......I love earthy names, good idea if it matches your name. spell it out with the initials of your babies name to see what it would be.....
Something like Franklin Alexander Goodwin would not be good initials and the kids would tease him......see if it works for you.
If your last name were Waters (just fer instance) you would not want a River Waters....see what I mean?

I think river is a beautiful name. The only problem for me would be finding a middle name. Have you any ideas yet?

Well just get use to your child coming home nearly every day hurt because someone teased him about his name. You may think it is cool--if so change YOUR name to River. I would go with a name that kids won't tease him about.

I like it!Ours is going to be Sky if it's a boy. I also know a kid named River and a kid named Rain.

yes it is. it reminds me of River Phoenix. he was such a good actor. loved him in stand by me. so yes go for it.

So long as you don't mind that the name will always be associated with a druggie kid who OD and died on the street, it's fine.
