Mac by a landslide. I always have to come home and spend some time on my Mac to "decontaminate" after a day in the office with Windoze. Honestly! How does the world manage to operate on that OS? Linux is a nice concept and is getting better, but OSX is there already.

You are correct. I am a PC person, but have developed a liking for Mac ever since OS X was released. For a pricing view, a PC would be cheaper. From a usability view, a Mac will be easier for a novice computer user. I would still side with a PC since I have so many programs that would not work properly on a Mac computer (there are programs that emulate Windows in a Mac environment -- moreover, now that Mac is using an Intel chip, you can install both Mac OS and Windows on the same machine).
My choice would be a PC, Hewlett Packard or Dell as brand. It's up to you now. Good luck in your decision. :-)

well im biased because ive grown up using Macs. but many people say that windows does 3x more than a Mac, in truth 99% of what a PC can do there is and equal or better program for mac that does the same or something similar to what they need

I prefer the Mac, though I'm forced by my job to uses windows.
I still have the hope that one day Linux may be a good compromise between these 2 operating systems

I don't like Mac's. I don't care much for Windows either. I use Ubuntu Linux for almost everything. I just keep my copy of Windows installed because I might need it one day.

a pc can do everything on the net. macs are restricted in many cases. try to build a web site at geocities using their pagebuilder, sitebuilder etc. with a mac. it won't happen. you have to build it on your hard drive and upload it.
