last year the "experts" said texas had no chance b/c mack couldnt win the "big games" (i guess they had already forgot about michigan in the rose bowl), they lost the "great" cedric benson and derrick johnson and they lacked a "true qb", this year these same "experts" say texas cant win b/c they lost the "unreplaceable" vince young and micheal huff, despite still having the best group of rb's in the nation (young, charles and melton) a top 5 o-line and a top ten defense

are these experts right for once or will they be wrong again?

Texas has as good of a chance as any of the main contenders. Everyone has questions that needs to be answered. Anyone that knows Texas football in-depth understands the rest of the team is loaded besides QB. The overall talent and depth is superior to last year.

However, QB is the most important position on the field. A QB can single-handedly lose a big football game regardless of the other players. We'll have to see how Snead and McCoy respond to pressure. Both are gamers to this point in their career, and surrounding talent can make things much easier. A great offensive line, running game, and skill players will ease the learning curve tremendously.

If they can play within the system and be mature enough not to force things that aren't there, Texas is a very dangerous team to anyone. The chances aren't great just as no other team's chances are great...it takes a lot of things falling in place to win a title. That being said, Texas has as good a chance as anyone. If they beat Ohio St., you can count on a strong run at a title. We'll see what the QB's are all about in that battle.

Slim to none. No VY, no Huff, no Cedric Benson. That's a lot to lose, even though UT certainly does have a lot of talent with which to reload. Still, last year was their year, and what a year it was. But with Tech and A&M on the rise and the North looking like it might actually win a couple inter-division games this year, I'd 10-2 could be a stretch for the 'horns. No Young, no title. He's that important.

As for the 'experts', who cares. It's August and means absolutely nothing. It's just fun to have and read while you're getting ready for fall.

They still have a very talented team. But inexperience at QB will probably cost them a shot at NC. That's why I hate college football. A team like Texas this season is a good example. Because they have to start an inexperienced QB, they will probably stumble in a game or two. They could be bringing it on towards the end of the season, but have no chance to prove they were the best team at the end of the year because there is no playoff.

As good a chance as anyone. Unfortunately they are coming to Lubbock this year to get a beating by the MoFo Texas Tech Red Raiders! They will not beat OU this year. Longhorns suck. I see them losing three games or more this year.

They are correct. Even if they run the big 12 again, they will lose in Big 12 title or BCS.
