- well then you shouldn't eat plants- plants breathe the same air you do as well.

I was a vegetarian for about three years and found out a lot about it. There is a wide range of vegetarians with many different reasons for being one. Some it is cause they don't want to hurt animals, some it is health reasons, some religious and so on. The range for vegetarians goes from vegans who generally do not eat any animals products including honey and eggs to those who eat anything but red meat.

i am vegetarian and if you spent anytime researching this question before asking it you could have saved yourself 5 points. now, there are many different types of vegetarians. some eat everything except red meat, some eat everything except red meat and poultry and some eat no animals at all but still eat dairy (like me). and then there are vegans who eat no meat, poultry, fish, dairy, or animal products at all (some wont even buy a leather belt or shoes). there are very extreme cases of vegetarians out there including those who eat no animals or fish or anything that did not "die naturally" like they would only eat an apple if it fell fom the tree, if it was picked, then it was killed and therefore not edible. my point is there are many variations of vegetarianism and everyone has there own viewpoints and reasons

True vegetarians don't eat fish either. Anyone who calls themselves a vegetarian AND eats fish or chicken is not a vegetarian - they just don't eat red meat. And people have other reasons for not eating meat besides the moral implications. For example, I limit myself to about 1 red meat meal per week for my health, not because I'm opposed to killing innocent cows.

I am an omnivore.
I love beef and chicken.
There are different types of vegetarians. Some will eat seafood and some do not. Some will eat dairy and eggs , others will not.
It depends on the individual & the reasons they decided to become vegetarians.
It just means there is more beef and chicken and fish and dairy and eggs for me. Of course I may die younger - or not.

well, i'm vegetarian and i do eat fish. fish go through less suffering than farm animals do. fish go through, at the most, ten minutes of suffication before they die but the other animals go through years of pain and abuse before they are brutally murdered. it feels less guilty to eat a fish who had a happy life then it is to eat an animal that suffered since birth for the pleasure of my taste buds. y dont u do some research on how those poor animals were treated, and maybe you'll think of them differently. and also, fish is a great source of protien, something all vegetarians need to get a lot of.

Vegetarians don't eat fish. If they do, they're not vegetarian but are "semi-vegetarian" at best.
Vegetarians eat vegetable and dairy products. Vegans only eat vegetable products. My husband is Vegan and many of my friends are involved in the local vegitarian society that publishes recipe booklets and hosts vegetarian dinners.
If someone you know says they're vegetarian and eats fish, you can tell them they are not. Fish are animals and they are highly sensitive to pain.

I am a vegetarian and I don't eat fish. Maybe some people don't think of fish as animals and that's why they eat them. Sort of like people have no problem killing an insect or rodent but wouldn't think of harming an "animal".
