I have two. My favourite little kids book is "Go Dog, Go!" by P.D. Eastman. It chronicles the adventures of many different dogs. My favourite real book is "1984" by George Orwell. That book warns of a tyrannical utopia in which Big Brother rules over all the Party, including Winston, the protagonist. Winston tries to break free, but ultimately submits.

On A Pale Horse by Piers Anthony is one of my favorites. It is the first book in a series called "The Incarnations of Immortality". It takes the aspects of life (Death, Time, War, Fate, Good, Evil, Nature) and personifies them. On A Pale Horse is the story of Death and how he takes over the office and has to deal with judging souls that are in balance. Great story for scifi/fantasy fans! I recommend all the books in the series, but that is my fave.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. It's about a woman in 1945 who walks through standing stones and finds herself in 1739 Scottland and becomes involved with the Jacobite uprising of 1745. This book is so rich in history and so discriptive you won't be able to put it down.
