P. S. stands for " Post Script." Thats why if there is something at the end of a letter, it is marked "P. S." If there is something after the P. S., it is marked "P. P. S."

It is Just a Note. An after-thought; an addition.Sudden remembrance after the letter / mail is finished! Most probably, it contains the most important un-said matter, more important than the body of the message.

P.S. is an Acronym:

P (ost)

S (cript)

The prefix 'Post' (antonym of 'pre' meaning 'before') means 'after' & 'Script' means 'WRITING' / 'Written Text'.

Is it now clear?

If so, send me 10 points post haste!

Post script is usually a pithy one liner that reminds the reader of something the writer is keen to highlight or forgot to convey in the main message.
