Hey!
Sorry, the categorie might be wrong but I didn't know where to fit it in better.
So between October 05-February 06 I lived with my girlfriend in the United States (NJ) with her parents. However,in February we had a huge argument and got kicked out. So we moved to Germany into my house.
There was mail sent to her parents that was for me,it was pretty important work mail. Her Mom actually TOLD us it was there and wanted to send it over to Germany but her new husband just took it. Nobody knows if he destroyed it,trashed it or just keeps it somewhere (but he did NOT send it back to the persons who sent it).
We knew that for like 4 of months now already, but wanted to wait if he'll change his mind and send it over. Now I'm kinda fed up with that and want to know what to do.
Could I sue him for it(even though some time went by) and if, would I have to go to the USA for that or could I do it from here?
We took a lot of their bull**, got kicked out and I really need that mail now. THX :)

I don't know if you can get it back, but it is a felony to steal mail. I believe it's punishable by 2 years in prison, and you could undoubtedly sue for damages.

Change your address at the post office. If this continues, talk to the post master in your town.
