Yes I think that would be much more fair than the current system. The more you spend the more you pay. It is about time that we realize that no economy has ever taxed its self in to prosperity.

Americans pay almost 400billion $ to comply with a tax system that can only be called ( utterly insane! ), if the government wants to give us a tax break either a flat tax or a federal sales tax
would do that, the only reason we won't do that is the wealthy;
the ones who are keeping our leaders in power would lose all their breaks which allow them to pay little or in some cases no taxes, and we can't have that

actually here in PA we do pay a one time tax when we buy a used car. and yes it would be cool because for example I have to pay a steadily increasing tax for the home I own every year by the time I am done paying it off I will have a tax mortgage to deal with, how can people keep their homes once they retire?

Sales tax is the way to go. The rich who buy more, pay more. The poor who buy little pay little.
Hopefully the sales tax would remove the ton of fees (such as the monthly $15 federal and state fees attached to my $12 phone bill)...

They would just figure out how to get your money some other way. But yes I would like that. I'm tired of paying taxes on top of taxes. North Carolina taxes you to death. For the rest of your life.

Read "The Fair Tax" by Congressman John Linder (and by Neil Boortz). A grassroots campaign has begun to achieve that very thing.

It's called sales tax, and we already pay that in some states.

You are into limiting the federal tax income and I really can't argue that point when I agree.

You betcha! And we need to pass it now. Contact your elected officials in Washington and tell them that you support the Fairtax, HR25, and want it passed immediately.
