Hispanic refers to anyone who speaks Spanish, therefore if you speak Spanish, you are Hispanic. Latina means you come from Latin America, Mexico is part of Latin America so you are Latina. Chicano is a Mexican-American so you are Chicana. And, last but not least you are a Mexican American.

Latina means you or your parents are from a Latin country. Its a general term. Hispanic is a more general term. It was used be the Italians to refer to the Spaniards. Mexican is what you really are because your family comes from Mexico.

I think they are just labels that people use to describe people that come from spanish speaking countries. As far as what you should call yourself, I don't think it matters. I do think that right now in America, the term "Mexican" conjures hatred and prejudice toward immigrants. What do other members in your family call your heritage?
