I'm looking to move from built-up Maryland to somewhere very rural & scenic, and Kentucky seems to have some nice areas. Where would you recommend?
So far Danville and Houstonville seem nice & have affordable land. Casey Creek area looks even cheaper. Any comments? Anywhere else I should be looking?
How is the property tax situation?
I want a farm because I have horses (NOT racehorses, no interest in being near their farms). I want friendly & neighborly, but not drunk rednecks shooting at everything that moves. I don't mind middle-of-nowhere. I do mind anything resembling the movie Deliverance... scary!
And are there equestrian magazines/newsletters for Kentucky (that are NOT about racing or TB/STB racing farms)?
Thanks in advance!
