I had braces when I was 13, a long time ago. They were on for a year and a half and they weren't so bad as I had clear braces rather than the metal. They got stained a little but not too noticeable. The only problem I had was that I liked to chew my pen cap during class (yeah-eww), and I would pop off a brace every now and then and have to go and get it bonded. I am thrilled that my parents could afford them as people say I have a pretty smile. All due to my braces.

Yes, I had them between ages 10 and 14. And that was a long time ago, because I'm in my 50s now! They WERE a pain, but the result were worth it.
I was always afraid of getting "stuck together" while kissing a guy who also wore braces--that was annoying. I also pulled off some braces and had to have them replaced when I ate a Sugar Daddy during Halloween. And I lost my retainer not once, but twice! (I always suspected that my bratty kid sister had something to do with the second disappearance.)

I just got mine off in May after having them for 3 years and 8 months! Now I have a retainer that I have to wear 24/7 for the first 6 months then I can wear it just at night. They kept telling me I would only have the braces for 2 years, then 2 1/2 years, then 3 years.... yeah right!

I had braces for about three years. I am glad that I had them, and it may seem like a long time, but it is worth it. I also had retainers which one would wear after braces to keep the teeth in place until they "set" in place. Braces really were not so bad.

I am an adult with braces. I've had them on for 18 months. My orthodontist said they should be off in 2 months! No, I don't hate them. I have straight teeth now! Sure, I had to learn to eat food differently, but the end result is well worth it. I've never had anyone make fun of me. People who make fun of people with braces are just jealous they don't have straight teeth. Adults with braces are very common now. It's so easy to have straight teeth!

I had braces for little over 2 years, I never really hated them.
I could still chew gum (its a lie that gum easily gets stuck to braces, don't chew that Freedent crap) and eat anything except Apples.
The only thing I hated were those bands that they put on your teeth before you get the braces put on, that was probably the most pain i've ever had with my teeth.

Well I had braces for about 2 years but before that I had to have all kinds of other things put on my teeth, like and expander. Those things sucked. Braces werent too bad and it was totally worth it.
