Chat rooms, Myspace, Online Dating, Yahoo Answers.... It seems like more people socialize online these days. Have you ever met someone in real life who you originally met on-line? How did it go?

I met my best friend online and we have been tight since 1998. She lives in England and I am in the US. I have visited her 3 times and I believe we will be life long friends.

I met my former boyfriend online. We were together for 2 years. It was really no different than meeting someone through a friend. We talked a lot before we met and then we went on a date.. no different than "real life"

Yes I did.... the love of my life...I am expecting, we are over the moon and we are getting married as soon as his divorce comes through. Don't get this wrong, he was separated when we met, online and face to face....IT'S FANTASTIQUE !!!! I had met some horrors before him, including a Taxidermist...he was a complete fruit loop.. not just nuts in a cute way...dangerous...Also the guy who got totally plastered on 2 drinks and ate a curry with his hands. I think he was still troughing as I hailed the cab. I never met anyone from any online situation without telling friends or family where i was going, also made sure my dates knew that too..always in a public place!!!!

I think meeting people from online works out really well over all as long as you talk to them for awhile online and on the phone first. I actually met a great guy on yahoo personals and we dated for just shy of a year before he had to move west. We are still friends

Yes, met a few people in a chat room several years ago and we chatted for a long time. Eventually we did meet in person (taking proper safety precautions of course) and they are really as cool in "real life" as in the virtual life. I have attended birthday parties and weddings of these people, but we continue to have mostly a virtual friendship because of geographical distance. Yet and still, I do not make a practice of meeting in person people I meet on-line.

i acctualy met my boyfriend on myspace. but its not really like it sounds, we live in the same town, and he started a myspace to find me and we started talking then started hanging out and we've been going out for over a year now. I've also met some people off of band websites that i've met at shows.

I'm on Myspace and met a really cool guy. He's very witty and he writes some really clever and funny things in his blogs. We decided to meet in person. It wasn't a blind date, we're just friends. It was cool, we hung out for like 4 hours, just talking and laughing. I'll keep in touch with him.

Yes I met my b/f in a chat room. In December last year. We are still together. Risky I know, but we chatted then talked on the phone then met in public.

I met my husband on-line, we have been married almost five months now. I have also met two friends from a message board. I always meet people in public places though.
