Should they avoid Yahoo Answers?

No. They will never learn to deal with people properly if they don't expose themselves to others and get practice. Becoming a recluse will only aggravate the symptoms of personality disorders, and they will lose their grip on reality.

It really depends on the personality disorder. As a whole, people should be allowed to be in contact with the world and able to use Yahoo Answers. However, I have noticed some users who quite possibly have a personality disorder and they tend to wear thin. Maybe we should screen for the following PDs:

Paranoid Personality Disorder- These are the people that read too much into questions and misinterpret and individualize everything.
Antisocial Personality Disorder- This would be the one PD I would say needs to limit contact with others, mainly because they have absolutely no regard for others and are completely manipulative.
Borderline Personality Disorder- We've all seen them. "I'm killing myself now unless you talk me out of it!" When you go through the history, they have been posting this question for 6 months. They go on and on complaining about how miserable their life is, but the only intervention they try is Yahoo Answers. When anyone gives them good advice, they minimize it and come up with a new problem. They also frequently exclaim, "I am not attention seeking!"
Histrionic Personality Disorder- These are the OMG people. "OMG! When my bf yawns, he close his eyes and wont look @ me. i tink tis mean he dont luv me and i am gonna b alone 4 d rest of my lif." Blowing EVERYTHING out of proportion!
Narcissistic Personality Disorder- These are the people that insist they are always right. They only seek praise and someone to validate their thoughts and opinions. These are the guys/girls who describe themselves as God's gift to men or women and then ask if anyone wants to be their boyfriend/girlfriend. If they are God's gift, why do they need to solicit on Yahoo Answers?
Avoidant Personality Disorder- These are the question askers that leave 18 additional comments after being criticized by respondents.
Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder- Users who are stubborn and can't accept that other people have different opinions. Perhaps these are also the people that respond, "Learn to spell, moron!" to all questions, yet misspell "moron" half the time.

Yes, unless they are females, 18 - 35, with nice bodies, who can hold a conversation that involves more than E! Television stories, and who are nymphomaniacs. Then they can contact me at 555-777-6969.

;o)

The real answer is it all depends. If they are criminally insane, then yes. If they are potentially violent, then yes. If, however, they have obsessive-compulsive disorder and don't like it when their peas tough the chicken on a dinner plate, the answer is no. However, they might like it better that way.

They should not limit their interaction with me-it is amusing, yet I am empathetic.
They should certainly visit Yahoo! Answers, as a sort of a touchstone, to be with those of their own kind. They can finally have an outlet, with multiple or covert ids, and harm no one with any rantings they feel wont to post.

I think that it all depends on the person with the disorder and their comfort level. If it doesn't feel safe to them to be around other people, then they shouldn't be forced into it.

On a personal note, I have a relative with multiple personalities, and I enjoy spending time with them. At home or in public. :)

No. If everyone with a perosonality disorder limited contact with other people, there would be very little contact in this world with one another.

Just b/c a person has a personality disorder, doesnt mean they should be a hermet!! I think its more healthy for them to surround them selfs around "healthy" minded peeps, to help exercise their issues in a more positive way!
